Annabelle’s Second Chance is a small private organization. We officially began our organized efforts in the summer of 1999 even though we have been rescuing homeless pets for our entire lives. It all began with a quest to rescue and adopt out a wonderful pit bull named Annabelle. Hence the name Annabelle’s Second Chance. Our Goal is to help educate pet owners about animal cruelty, neglect, abandonment and to teach responsible pet ownership along with spaying and neutering. We occasionally have a rescued dog or two available for adoption. We work with local humane agencies, shelters, all breed rescues and individuals to help them place their adoptable bulldogs. ASC acquired it’s federal 501(c)3 in 2005 and is a recognized non profit agency. Our purpose is to rescue adoptable bulldogs and place them in appropriate homes one dog at a time and improve the reputation of the breed by only placing those dogs that match the proper temperament of the American Pit Bull Terrier.
We have volunteers in NC and VA
Pagan is a wonderful boy. He came to rescue last year as a puppy and was adopted out last fall. Their situation changed and he’s back. He is a sweet boy, good with kids, crate trained, house broken and has basic training. View his page here. To view available dogs Click Here
All of our adoption programs and services are supported through your generosity. We do not receive any federal, state or local government funding.
We do not accept owner surrenders or strays. We are not currently taking in any dogs due to limited resources. We can not foster any additional dogs. At this time we are only able to provide support to previously adopted dogs whose situations are no longer stable.
